2-Minute Rule
Conquering a To-Do List
To-do lists can often feel endless and unconquerable. From my most pressing tasks to those annoying quick chores, I often wonder where to even start. I've used the time management matrix (https://adventures-of-a-half-asian.blogspot.com/2020/12/time-management-matrix.html), block scheduling, detailed scheduling, and more. However, there is one time tip that has helped me to complete even the smallest task.
The 2-Minute Rule
The 2-minute rule is that if you have a task that can be done in 2-minutes, you do it right then. For example, you may come home from work, see the full trash can, need to make dinner, and finish an essay. According to the 2-minute rule, you'd take out the trash first. This helps you feel less tense as you cross a task off your to-do off your list.
So, when you feel overwhelmed with a task, start with the quick tasks to feel a little less stressed.
